105KM ROUTE
Riders do the traditional loop around the World's View area and meander through the forest for a few kilometres as they descend to the outskirts of Pietermaritzburg. A short section of tar leads to a purpose-built stretch of single track which includes a steep descent and then a beautiful flowing section along the Dorpspruit to join up with the old course. The single track may not be as easy as the fast descent down Taunton Road, but in terms of traffic it is much safer and is real mountain biking. Through Pietermaritzburg riders are asked to please be aware of the traffic.

45KM ROUTE
From the start at the Cato Ridge Golf Club riders proceed next to the golf course before the field spitting first hill before a steep dirt road decent. The route lakes a sharp right turn down to the railway track, through a small valley on some great single track before riders make their way to the bridge crossing the N3, and then a fast section of cattle single track before reaching the disused railway tracks and the underpass under the N3 – and then the fun starts.
At this point 15km have been completed with not too much climbing – there is still over 700m of climbing in just 30 kilometres.

15KM ROUTE
Riders start from the start/finish line at the Polo Club, drop down through the N3 tunnel and proceed next to the dam before going up a relatively rough hill and following the fully marked track on the highest contour in the Shongweni cane.
The route then drops down to the single track next to the river and follows the river all the way to the WP at the “river splash”. The route now proceeds around six pack hill and then onto a fast section of dirt road riding before reaching the small climb back through the N3 tunnel and onto the polo fields and the finish line.
